Along the front of one of KL's glutton lanes is a simple stall that offers just one specialty: traditional Chinese rice dumplings. This 3rd generation stall is operated now by Madam Ah Chan and her retired taximan husband Mr Chan. While we chat with Mr Chan his wife is seen diligently attending to customers. The traditional Chinese rice dumplings that they offer have a variety of different fillings. They have kept the good old traditional way of making these dumplings , with bamboo leaves and strings and steam cooked always. It is indeed a sadly disappearing art and recipe ,and not commonly found in cities and towns nowadays. Because of the amount of tiring effort and time needed to prepare this dumplings the couple are only present sometimes at their stall. Watch the and catch the enlightening conversation with Mr Chan, telling us about this fame area and how things have changed. Even the price iof his dumplings, which used to be 80cents a piece , now RM3.50. Come on over and taste this Chinese cultural recipe before it is gone forever !
