In the heart of KL ,and many parts of Selangor, immigrant workers are a common sight. But did you know that these seasoned ,hardworking immigrant workers have  become an enterprising  force to be reckoned? Take a closer look. Immigrant workers have  taken  up retailing in major commercial areas in he city .However,you are not their customers . They saw a sea of  opportunities to serve their own community of countrymen. Yes, there are reports that over 1.5 million(not thousands) of Bangladeshi immigrant workers will be here in a matter of time. These adds up to the possibly millions of  others from neighboring countries such as Burma, Indonesia and even Cambodia. In a positive note, these immigrant retailers not only take up the most minute shop spaces but also provide landlords a source of revenue to an otherwise empty lot. Besides , their presence create a hive of commercial activity amidst a comradeship away from "home". Come weekends, when Malaysians are in these areas we become "foreigners"!  On weekdays you see him as a blue collar construction hand, by weekend he is a white collar "businessman"!
