News recently broke that the Kelantan menteri besar was given a brand new Mercedes S450L AMG Line, but he wasn’t the only one to get a new car.
In fact, 14 Mercedes cars were purchased for the executive council members and state secretary to be used as official cars.
Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Mohd Amar Abdullah said the new cars are safer and cheaper to maintain than the old Protons used before.
Amar said the purchases were made in stages using the state government's budget following three consecutive years of a surplus, including RM45 million last year.
