MCA president Wee Ka Siong said his party was committed to BN and the coalition's collective decision which was made through a consensus.

This came following suggestions from former Umno president Najib Abdul Razak warning MCA not to forget their friends.

Wee said in March last year, the BN supreme council had decided to support the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government en-bloc and adopted a "no PKR and no DAP" position.

Yesterday, Najib had alluded that MCA was "forgetting its friends", citing how Umno had always helped MCA, including in the Tanjung Piai by-election campaign in November 2019.
