凌晨4時25分，一輛空載的士沿灣仔道東行，近活道一個右彎失控，撞路中安全島，撞毀一支紅綠燈燈柱及燈箱，再衝前30米鏟上左邊行人路，掃毀3米鐵欄及一支消防喉，險撞到一間麵店。
