【本報訊】政府早年提出將新界單車網絡連貫起來，發展局長陳茂波在網誌提及單車徑工程進度，其中元朗至上水段工程料於2020年初完成，但環保觸覺批評為建該段單車徑竟計劃砍伐3,284棵樹木，包括3棵屬「珍貴樹木」的細葉榕及大葉榕，有樹木專家指被砍樹木中相信有逾百歲的罕見大樹，質疑砍樹理據不充份。
