【本報訊】今年1月至今，本港共發生1,739宗涉及巴士的交通意外，當中九巴佔769宗，新巴和城巴則分別有237和276宗，當中兩宗大車禍便奪去4條人命，其中9月份深水埗一輛城巴鏟上行人路造成3死30傷，是近年最嚴重的車禍，事件更揭發肇事車長在出事時已連續5天、每日13小時通宵工作，令人關注車長工時過長及人手短缺的問題，促請巴士公司及政府正視問題。
