前年大年初二凌晨旺角發生騷亂，本土民主前線前發言人梁天琦被裁定一項暴動罪成，另承認一項襲警罪，分別被判入獄6年及12個月，同期執行。案中其他被告也被重判，盧建民暴動罪成判囚7年，早前承認暴動罪的黃家駒被判囚3年半。今年初梁天琦還柙時其facebook已有他人代為管理，間中有新貼文，今午fb貼出一封梁在獄中撰寫的信件。梁在信中指出，輾轉在囚4個月，日子不算太難過，並衷心感激每位到庭聽審及寫信給他的朋友。
