【本報訊】英國檔案處昨解封一批1989至1990年內閣檔案，當中塵封27年的中國六四檔案重見天日，揭示中國企圖以香港《基本法》作籌碼換取英國經濟援助。密件載有一封由英國國會議員寫給首相戴卓爾夫人的信，揭示中方曾在六四屠城後兩周，透過一名港人接觸該議員，希望以非官方渠道爭取英繼續提供經濟援助，更表明願在草擬《基本法》上提供「更大彈性」作交換條件，但因外交部及時任港督強烈反對而告吹。
