【本報訊】中大新校長段崇智上任後首度正式見傳媒，他表示不少人問及為何回港做中大校長，香港出生、美國長大的段崇智表示自己是「土生土長的香港仔」，現時能回到自己的故鄉，並擔任中大領導人，感到十分榮幸。中大近年多次出現港獨標語，全港10間大學校長更聯署譴責，段崇智被兩次追問對校園討論港獨的態度，他指中大有清晰立場及明確措施處理，捍衞言論自由及學術自由是大學的基石和核心價值，惟要理性和平的方法討論，但他未有指明是甚麼立場及措施。
