看守卫生部部长凯里今天接受BFM电台专访时暗示，不排除自己会在大选后举行的巫统党选中，竞逐更高的职位，如巫统署理主席职。
凯里表示，如果看守首相依斯迈沙比里再次出任首相，巫统就应该支持他出任梧桐主席。他则会和沙比里及巫统前副主席希山慕丁组队竞选。
“我会和希山慕丁讨论，看是谁竞逐第二把交椅。”
依斯迈目前是巫统副主席，而凯里在上届巫统党选时攻打党主席职，但输给了阿末扎希。希山慕丁则是巫统前副主席。
提名日后，凯里曾高调宣告，自己未来想要领导巫统，更想出任首相，引起举国关注。而要实现领导巫统的梦想，凯里就必须在巫统党选中寻求更上一层楼。
