2017年财政预算即将出炉，行动党政治教育主任刘镇东指出，有消息指新预算中，卫生部传出必须削减3亿令吉的预算。
刘镇东批评，最应该减少预算的应该是首先署，因为该部虽然拥有200亿的拨款，但许多拨款项目实际上却是没有具体详情的计划，这些计划包括：重组社会、发展计划、消灭贫穷、小计划、特别计划、亲民计划及协调基金。其中协调基金就耗费30亿令吉的拨款。
