大埔鳳園地區早前發生狗隻被捕獸器夾至重傷事情，受傷狗隻其後需要截肢，環保協進會鳳園蝴蝶保育區表示對事件非常憤怒，並建議政府應加強對該區的巡邏及執法，以及加重判刑的罰則。
