【本報訊】理大應用生物及化學科技學系的團隊，發現一種對強力抗生素「碳青黴烯」（Carbapenem）呈抗藥性的新型肺炎克雷伯桿菌，具備可加速傳導變異基因訊息的質體，大幅增強細菌毒性及入侵器官組織的能力，患者死亡率極高。主導研究的該系教授陳聲教授昨表示，相信醫院傳播是該「超級細菌」的主要感染途徑，情況值得關注，該系將會收集本港醫院數據作進一步研究。
