慕克里兹在全国大选后不久，发表过因为华人不支持国阵、所以他不拨款给华校的言论，已经引起吉打州华社的反弹。由于意识到这次的吉打双溪礼茂补选每票必争，慕克里兹10月28号，在这个课题上，来了一个急转弯，强调一定会帮助华人。
