新加坡開國總理李光耀因嚴重肺炎入院超過一個月，前日和昨日總理公署連續兩日發消息，指他受到感染，病情連續兩日惡化，新加坡舉國上下都為九十一歲高齡的李光耀掛心擔心。沒想到有人竟拿事件來惡作劇，昨晚發佈假消息指李光耀已經離世，並佐以總理公署網站的公佈截圖，結果中外以至香港傳媒，紛紛墮入陷阱，信以為真，未有核實清楚就爭相轉載這項假消息。
