【本報訊】早前在伊利沙伯醫院死亡的一名三十八歲男子，感染甲型H3N2流感，病毒直擊下呼吸道，令存於口腔的化膿性鏈球菌入肺，雙重夾擊下多種器官衰竭死亡。醫生懷疑二○○九年豬流感或H7N9禽流感病毒的非結構性蛋白，與以往H3N2病毒出現基因洗牌，產生今次變種病毒。
