【本報訊】鑑於載客量漸飽和，港鐵早前決定斥資33億元陸續更換7條市區綫信號系統，由有線進化至無線系統，縮短列車間距，加密班次增加載客量。最先動工的荃灣綫將於明年第一季起凌晨全面實地測試，料明年底完成升級。但港鐵坦言測試時不排除出問題致影響早上繁忙時間班次，故已制訂應變措施，包括調配額外人手及穿梭巴士以應付。
