保普選反佔中大聯盟的簽名活動8月17日結束，大聯盟決定將當日定為「和平普選日」，除了發起「和平普選大遊行」，並在中環舉行12小時「獻花活動」。發言人周融昨稱遊行有「至少」5至6萬人參加，又指團體為吸引市民參加遊行派飯盒「冇問題」。
