２０２２年财案为史上最庞大。为了增加国库收入，政府宣布将针对年收益超过１亿令吉的公司征收最高百分之３３的繁荣税，结果马股应声下跌。知名经济学者胡永泰接受Kinitv采访时说，政府的这个做法，只会加剧资金外流。

胡永泰认为，要增加国家收入来支付这个史上最庞大的财案，政府可以考虑其他更好的方法，比如征收资本利得税；甚至是出售表现不佳的官联公司。他认为，后者甚至还能打击金钱政治。
