【本報訊】一名12歲中一男生，上周五於竹園南邨食店購買牛肉球小食，邊走邊吃期間突然鯁喉窒息昏迷，送院搶救入住深切治療部，一直情況危殆。消息稱，男童鯁喉後疑因腦部缺氧致腦部受損，腎臟亦出現問題不能排尿要洗腎，結果延至昨晨不治。這是13個月以來，第二宗學童鯁喉死亡事件。
