Motion to sign and ratify the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement was passed by Dewan Rakyat Wednesday evening following a two-day special parliamentary sitting. The motion was passed after a bloc vote with 127 backbenchers voting in favour of the pact; while 84 opposition MPs voted against the motion. Before reading out the decision, house speaker invited members of the media into the august house to record what he termed as a "historic occasion".
