2017 SAG Award Nominations - La La Land Scores BIG, Stranger Things, Westworld & MORE

Today the 2017 Screen Actors Guild award nominations were revealed. Sophia Bush and Common announced this year’s nominees live from the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. And unlike other award shows, the SAG Awards is ALL ABOUT the acting. TV shows that saw the most nominations for its actors include “Game of Thrones”, “The Crown”, “The People v OJ Simpson”, “Stranger Things” and “Westworld”- all with 3 nominations.
And some of your favorite TV actresses were included in these nominations! “Stranger Things” stars Millie Bobby Brown and Winona Ryder will face off against each other in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series category. Another Netflix favorite, “Orange is the New Black”, snagged two noms including Uzo Aduba as Crazy Eyes for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
As for films, coming out on top is “Manchester By The Sea” with a staggering 4 nominations, followed by “Fences” and “Moonlight” with 3 noms each. Fan favorite movie “La La Land” is also recognized with Ryan Gosling nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in Leading Role and Emma Stone for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
Going up against Ryan Gosling for Male Actor include Andrew Garfield for “Hacksaw Ridge”, Casey Affleck in “Manchester By The Sea”, Viggo Mortensen in “Captain Fantastic” and Denzel Washington for “Fences”. And squaring off against Emma Stone for Female Actor include Amy Adam in “Arrival”, Emily Blunt in “Girl on the Train”, Natalie Portman for “Jackie” and Meryl Streep for “Florence Foster Jenkins”.
The 23rd annual SAG Awards will air live on January 29th on TNT and TBS with Lily Tomlin receiving the SAG Life Achievement Award during the ceremony.
