When you look too good, people start to talk…
We’re breaking down 4 celebrities who were accused of photoshopping their bodies in their music videos
Most celebrities are guilty of retouching a picture here and there, but when it comes to a music video, ya better know what you’re doing or the internet will attack
FIRST FULL ASSET:
The ladies of Little Mix should be celebrating another successful video for ‘Touch,’ but LM fans are accusing “Touch” of being RE-touched. While the girls get down, the striped blue background appears to distort around Jesy Nelson’s body as she dances.
Fans were quick to point out the bendy walls, posting screen shots clearly showing something a little funky about that striped wall.
But in a BTS video released of the video shoot, we see the girls dancing in front of that same wall that is really just a strangely angled wall..
… Or hey, maybe it’s just a funky paint job?
When Megan Trainor’s ‘Me Too’ hit the radio, it quickly became a major hit. When the video came out, however, fans were less than pleased to discover that Megan’s waist had been noticeably sized down.
Aaaand cue the photoshop accusations. In this case, fans were so right! Megan straight up admitted that she WAS photoshopped for the vid, but she had no idea! Since Megan loves to spread body positivity, she was NOT happy, and feared her fans would not be too pleased either. Luckily for Megan, her fans loved her even more when she pulled the altered video and replaced it with the original, showing off those gorgeous, natural curves that we love.
But before Megan taught us all about that bass, the queen of pop herself taught us how to work. Britney Spears’ music video for Work Bitch was everything…. Until before and after shots were released by the visual effects studio that actually worked on the vid. The studio wanted to show off their touch-up skills and may have accidentally revealed that they did some touching up on Britt too. The internet was quick to call out that the “after” shot showed a smaller-wasted Britney. The mystery may never be solved, but regardless Britney is SLAYING.
Now Kim Kardashian must be feeling real good about her body, because she was accused of photoshopping her curves not once, but twice during two separate music videos. The first accusations sparked when Kim appeared in hubby Kanye West’s music video for ‘Bound 2.’ Despite having given birth to daughter, North West, just months before the video’s release, Kim was nothing short of #GOALS as she clung onto Kanye West on the back of that motorcycle. She was accused of photoshopping her body to appear slimmer in the vid, but Kimmy shut the haters down so fast, showing the world just how amazing she looked and the hard work it took to get there post-baby. But it wouldn’t be the last time Kim had to defend her curves. After Fergie’s MILF$ video was released, the internet once again accused Kim of photoshopping her waist, which according to some, looked disproportional to her famous booty. In response, Kim released a behind-the-scenes vid proving that no photoshop was used.
With technology these days, something tells us it won’t be long before another celebrity is accused of photoshopping their physique, but the most important thing to remember is that curves are OKAY, and everybody’s body is different.
