Kim and Kanye just came out with the news that they’ll be using a surrogate to carry their third child. After Kim’s doctors told her it would be too high risk for her to get pregnant again, she was devastated but she and Kanye began to look into surrogacy. According to People magazine, both Khloe Kardashian and model Chrissy Teigen have offered to be her surrogate! Who they actually chose is unknown.
Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka used a surrogate to carry their insanely adorable twins, Gideon and Harper. Of the conception process, Harris has said “ We inserted one of my sperm and one of David's sperm into two eggs with the hope that they would both take, just because we both wanted to be dads biologically.” But neither Harris nor Burtka knows which child is biologically theirs. But guess what, he has “no interest in [finding out]. We are their parents and I love them implicitly,"
Supermodel and ANTM queen Tyra Banks has been very open about her struggles with fertility. In an interview with People, Tyra talked about her challenges with IVF (in vitro fertilization), saying “I’ve had some not happy moments with that, very traumatic moments... It’s difficult as you get older. It’s not something that can just happen.”
BUT in January 2016, Tyra and her partner, Erik shared this Instagram post of a cute little baby hat to announce the birth of their son, York by surrogate.Oh, that teeny tiny baby hat!
Elizabeth Bank has been particularly outspoken about her use of a surrogate. Both her children, Magnus and Felix, were born via surrogacy.
In a public statement after Magnus’ birth in 2012, the Hunger Games star wrote, “Like Felix, Magnus was born via gestational surrogate. This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime. I am also so very thankful to our family and friends for their support throughout this process, as well as the Center for Surrogate Parenting for helping make all this possible."
And last, but not least, late night host Jimmy Fallon was very open about the five years he and his wife, Nancy, spent trying to get pregnant. In an interview on the Today show, Jimmy explained why they chose to keep it a secret until sweet Winnie Rose was born. “We said, ‘We’re not going to tell anybody,’” “It’d be just more fun if it’s just private between me and my wife. And then we get to introduce her to everybody."
It’s so wonderful to see so many parents able to conceive and get to love their babies! What do you guys think? Who will Kimye pick as a surrogate?
