Check out all the times “The Final Five” Women’s Gymnastics team were BFF Goals at the Rio Olympics 2016, right here on News Feed!
Not only are the “Final Five” ladies some of the best athletes in the world, they are also proving that they are the best of best friends. Which is why they deserve all the gold medals in the world for #FriendshipGoals.
Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, and Madison Kocian, aka “The final five”, could not be any cuter when it comes to how much they’ve been supporting each other during the Olympics. But first on our list of top five BFF moments between the girls is the time they all wore matching “Squad Goals” tanks while training together.
Yup, that picture pretty much sums up how incredible their friendship is, and how much they’re totally aware of it. Now if this doesn’t inspire us all to work out with our friends in matching outfits, I don’t know what will...
Next up, it’s the time Aly posted an inspiring quote from Simone to her Instagram.
Aly took to her social media to share some kind words from teammate and gold-medal winner Simone Biles that said QUOTE, “I think I was more proud of Aly getting silver than me gold. She’s worked so incredibly hard during her comeback. She’s one of my role models, and I don’t think there’s anyone I’d rather share the podium with. I’m more happy for her than myself.” Aly captioned the post with, “You're so sweet. Wow. We're so lucky to have such a special and rare friendship. Wouldn't want to share this with anyone else either.” Okay...being genuinely proud of each other’s successes wholeheartedly? Uh, that’s pretty much a BFF necessity, and they nailed it!
Of course, when it comes to true BFFs, you’ve got to find friends you can get goofy with. Which is why we were pretty darn excited to see that the girls took a break from their crazy training schedules to play a little old fashioned Foosball.
Simone shared the pic of her and the girls standing around a Foosball table with the caption, “We weren’t terrible but we’ll stick with gymnastics”. It’s good to know that while these girls take their Olympic dreams super seriously, they manage to have a ton of fun with each other when they’re not training or competing. Just another way they’re keeping that BFF game strong.
Our next fave BFF moment is the time Maddie and Laurie sent Aly a handwritten note of support, and Aly took to Instagram to share the sweet message.
In the note, Maddie and Laurie congratulated Aly on being an Olympic AA silver medalist, and told her how happy they were for her and how much they’ve looked up to her since the beginning of their gymnastics careers. The girls ended the note by saying “We love you mama Aly”. Okay cue Aly probably ugly crying after reading that. Nothing says “We are your BFFs” like a handwritten heartfelt note of support. Not even a text with an entire block of thumbs up and heart emojis can top that!
And finally, the moment that solidified the Final Five’s title #1 in BFF goals, was when they all got to share in the glory of being #1 at the Olympics and winning the gold, united as a team.

When these girls won the gold together, their excitement wasn’t just from the recognition of being the best in the world at their sport. It was the culmination of all of the hard work, sweat, and support they shared with each other on their journey to Rio. And while moments of glory and fame may be fleeting, the Final Five will always have their unbreakable friendship with each other, which is worth all the gold medals in the world. Now THAT is a #BFFGoals MIC DROP!
