Tonight’s People’s Choice Awards kicked off the 2015 award show season and all of the celebs were out in celebration. From Chris Pratt cameos to Iggy performances, Clevver’s Trophy Life coverage is bringing you all of the best highlights from throughout the 2015 PCAs.
First off, we have to give some kudos to Anna Faris and her Mom co-star Alison Janney for hosting the evening’s show and being absolutely hilarious as usual. But not so fast, aside from her bubbling personality, there’s one more key benefit that came with Anna’s hosting duties, yes we are referring to the brief cameo from her very own hubby, the one and only Chris Pratt.
But not so fast, an award show is obviously not complete with a cameo from only one Chris. That clearly just would not be enough. So cue our next hot Chris of the evening --- Chris Evans, everybody. And while Chris Evans is hot doing just about anything, this may be one of my favorite things he’s ever done.
Yes, that was Chris Evans graciously and chivalrously assisting 93-year-old Betty White to the stage. I honestly did not know think that Chris Evans could be any more attractive but this moment has most definitely proved me wrong.
Another hilarious moment came when Anthony Anderson and Olivia poked a little fun at Jared Leto & Ariana Grande by discussing the items they supposedly scooped up after last year’s show. First they reveal one of Jared’s extensions and Olivia describes it as smelling of Coachella and Love. And then… this happened.
Ah yes but that wasn’t the only playful shade thrown during the show --- a naively clueless Monica Potter lists off the nominees and includes the notorious nickname made popular by the ever so eloquent Azealia Banks, Igloo Australia. But seriously, in her defense, we doubt poor Monica even wrote that speech much less knows who Azealia Banks even is. Blame the teleprompter people.
Another OMG moment that went down was when Viola Davis accepted her award for Favorite Actress in a New TV Series and casually references up the “less classically beautiful” label given to her by the NY Times. Winning an award and looking absolutely fabulous? Not a bad way to shut down the haters Viola.
Oh PS --- Anna Faris and Allison Janney also let us in on a secret about how award shows run. Apparently those seemingly well-thought out and eloquent acceptance speeches aren’t always as planned as they appear…
Annnnnd our final highlight of the evening was definitely Iggy’s epic performance of her latest single “Beg For It.” Dressed in an all white jumpsuit, Iggy shook her assets as usual and absolutely killed her performance and for once had no technical difficulties to speak of! *golf clap for Iggy* You go Glenn Coco.
