All of our geekiest dreams came true at this year’s convention, and whether you are suffering from a serious case of FOMO or you’re just ready to relive all the fun, we’ve got you covered with a look at the 7 best, biggest, and even shocking moments from Comic Con
First up, it’s time to say goodbye to Teen Wolf. MTV made the unexpected announcement on Day 1 of Comic Con during it’s Teen Wolf Panel, revealing that the series’ upcoming 6th season would be it’s last. Teen Wolf is MTV’s longest-running show, and is set to hit it’s 100th episode landmark in 2017. Writer Jeff Davis told a crowd of fans that QUOTE “100 episodes is a good place to stop,” before he noticeably got emotional, taking in a big hug from star Tyler Posey, while the audience literally lost all their chill, erupting in a communal “Nooooo.”
But Teen Wolf was not the only show to make such an announcement at the convention. The CW also announced that The Vampire Diaries would see it’s series finale at the end of season 8. After the announcement, a video was played which looked back on 7 years of The Vampire Diaries. In the video, the cast and crew also got the chance to individually thank their fans for their support, with co-creator Julie Plec concluding the video saying QUOTE “Now as we enter the final year, there are just two things left to say: thank you and goodbye.”
But as one door closes, another opens. FX’s Bates Motel shocked and excited fans with a special video message from their newest surprise cast member. Check it out.
It’s Rihanna! The superstar joins the cast for their final season, which will officially be RiRi’s biggest scripted acting role ever. Bring on season 5.
Let’s keep the girl power going. We can officially welcome Brie Larson to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Right at the end of an incredible panel, Marvel announced their newest member, Captain Marvel. It has long been rumored that Larson would be the MCU’s newest female superhero, but nonetheless, the crowd went absolutely nuts.
Later, Brie was photographed with many of the ladies of the MCU, which also now includes Spider-Man Homecoming’s Zendaya and Dr. Strange’s Rachel McAdams, amongst many other top notch ladies. Marvel’s band of bad-ass women keeps growing and they are looking hotter than ever.
However, DC’s Wonder Woman could be giving the Marvel ladies some serious competition. Warner Brothers debuted the first official look at the new movie, which stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince AKA Wonder Woman, and it definitely did not disappoint. The trailer is jam packed with serious butt-kicking action, plus she fights off the bad guys with a golden lasso, what more do we need?
Finally, even with all the hype in San Diego, one man still found time to propose to his girlfriend and he did it during the Supernatural panel. Just Jared reported that the man spoke into a microphone as he proposed tell his soon-to-be fiance QUOTE “I can’t think of anybody else standing by my side slaying zombies and killing vampires and killing demons and whatever else is out there.” Hey, that’s one way to do it. After the sweet moment, Supernatural star, Jared Padalecki personally congratulated the couple.
