We all love Sam Smith. Whether it’s because of his mesmerizing vocal skills, charming accent, or the fact that he is so talented and yet still so humble, we just can’t seem to get enough of the ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ singer. Let’s kick this list off with something that was revealed back in 2014. Sam Smith is afraid of airplanes and flying. Its one thing to be afraid of flying, but it’s awful to be afraid of flying when your career literally requires you to travel around the world and perform.
Next up, you know how some people break up with their significant other and still manage to be friends. In a recent interview with KISS FM UK, Sam talks about Too Good At Goodbyes which is one of the few songs on the album about him and one of his personal experiences with an ex. When the radio host asks if he can be friends with exes, Sam had this to say.
Now I know we all fell in love with Sam Smith after his debut studio album, In The Lonely Hour, but what if he didn’t release another album after that. Well in a recent interview with Attitude Magazine, Sam told Sir Elton John why he almost quit music for good. He said, "I got dumped, which wasn’t very nice. Writing music about that kind of thing is normally like therapy for me, but when I got dumped this time 'round I just couldn’t write for about two months... My team had to force me to get into the studio, because I almost felt as if I didn’t want to do it any more. So, there were moments on there where it got a bit intense and I started to lose myself.”
Before we continue, we are sooooo glad that he got back to working on his music, but also, who dumps Sam Smith?! Don’t worry Sam; I’m sure there are plenty of people who would love to have you as their boyfriend.
Alright moving on, well kind of... because I’m sure Sam Smith has plenty of people knocking at his door, but you may be surprised to know that he is more single now than ever. In an interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, Smith says, “I’m still very, very single. I think I’m even more single than I was when I released In the Lonely Hour, so I’m insanely single.” But don’t feel too bad for our pal Sam, he is in a good place saying, “I do feel like I’m ready for something more positive, more than I was. What I’ve been through relationship wise the last year has made me a lot stronger and I feel like I’ve learned some lessons from it.”
Next up, Sam Smith has admitted to being a fan of quite a few artists, but he loves Ariana Grande.

In the same interview with Attitude Magazine, he revealed this and said, “I think my dad was scared for me, because of his own life experience… I think he saw a lot of kids get bullied and just felt really nervous for me. Especially when, at 16 or 17, I used to wear a lot of make-up and dressed very differently at school.” He also admits that he never used to say he was bullied when he was younger because he’s heard of people having worst experience, but he says, “when I look back at it now, it wasn’t the easiest time.”
And finally Sam got two new tattoos just within this past year! When talking about them with Zach Sang on his show, he talks about how one of the tattoos has a special meaning associated with his new album.
