Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah made a quick visit to media members gathering outside Gate 2 of Istana Negara.

The king did not entertain any questions but urged calm and patience, saying a caretaker government is in place to handle daily affairs.

Earlier, Istana Negara extended the deadline for political parties and MPs to nominate the next prime minister.

In a statement, the Comptroller of the Royal Household for Istana Negara Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the new deadline is 2pm tomorrow.
