The spat between his Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh and DAP vice-chairperson Teresa Kok over the halal certification issue is considered over, said Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
According to Zahid, it had toned down and he met with Akmal on Sept 14.
He added that he had issued a statement on the cabinet’s decision that the halal certification would not be made compulsory and the old policy would remain, so the issue is closed.
