The government has announced an additional public holiday depending on when Hari Raya Aidilfitri starts.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that if Aidilfitri falls on Friday (April 21), then the following Monday (April 24) will be set as a public holiday.

Meanwhile, Malaysians will get to enjoy toll-free travel on all highways nationwide for a total of four days: from April 19 to 21 and again on April 24 in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities, the prime minister has announced.

Anwar said the toll-free highway will apply to all types of vehicles on 33 highways.
