Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has refuted claims that the government doesn't care about the rakyat, following the lifting of temporary price controls on chicken and eggs as announced in Budget 2024.

Anwar said Putrajaya considered all aspects in making the decision including on the supply and current market price

He added that the government can also help the public if they are affected via cash aid through the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR).
