Yeah, she just did that! Ariana Grande name drops her exes on new breakup song “Thank U, Next”.
Revenge has never sounded so good.
On Saturday, Ariana Grande dropped a revenge track where she looks back at her former relationships. In the therapeutic new song Ari recaps what she learned from each of her exes.

But hold up, the song isn’t what you think. In the second verse, Ariana switches the narrative to her new relationship… with herself. We’re loving her self-empowerment lyrics QUOTE, “I met someone else, we havin’ better discussions, I know they say I move on too fast, but this one gon’ last, ‘Cause her name is Ari.” In the track Ariana also reveals her firm stance on marriage singing, “One day I’ll walk down the aisle… only wanna do it once, real bad, gon’ make that sh*t last.”
The TIMING of this breakup track tells a story as well. On November 1st, Ari’s ex fiance Pete Davidson took jab at their failed engagement in an SNL promo where he asks musical guest Maggie Rogers to marry him. Shortly after, Ari fired back on Twitter blasting Pete for clinging to relevancy. Ari has now taken back control of the conversation, dropping “Thank U, Next” just AN HOUR before SNL aired live on TV. Rumor has it Pete canceled a planned sketch about his breakup with Ariana. Instead, we saw Pete give a heartfelt statement about his ex. He explained that the truth about their breakup is nobody’s business, and sometimes things just don’t work out.
If this revenge wasn’t sweet enough, Ari told fans on Twitter that “Thank U, Next” is also the title of a forthcoming album she’s been working on. If you’re curious what Ari’s other exes think of this track, she revealed to fans that she played Ricky and Sean the song before its release.
