Dahulu hutanku lebat, udaranya sejuk,
Air sungai mengalir jernih, Kini hutanku telah terbabat,
Sungai penuh sampah.

The 9th International Dance Festival (Tari 2014) kicked off on Nov 12, 2014. In this four-day programme, local and international dance companies come together once again to exchange ideas and present their work, hence the theme of the festival…“Building Bridges”.  The funding this year has been made possible through the Ministry of Tourism and Culture’s Visit Malaysia Year (VMY 2014) fund, and is also held in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Malaysia’s only institution of higher learning focused on the arts – ASWARA.
Tari '14, curated by the Aswara’s dance faculty, will feature 12 countries in the main evening performances, one international and two Malaysian showcases, three round-tables, and 32 workshops and will feature 180 foreign dancers, choreographers and educators, who will join 16 respected and upcoming Malaysian artists, as well as 200 dance and arts enthusiasts.
