Perikatan Nasional information chief Azmin Ali said that Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari was a proxy in the race for the Gombak parliamentary seat.

In a speech at an event today, Azmin said there were rumours of a big name coming to contest in the seat but the person ran away to Perak.

He added that candidates should contest based on their own conviction and if they were forced to contest a seat it was just a proxy war.
