Every year, die-hard Bachelor fans eagerly await the summer season where past contestants from the previous year’s Bachelor and Bachelorette reality show get whisked away to a tropical Mexican paradise in hopes of continuing their chances to find love in a hopeless place, but after this year, paradise may never be the same.
The list of contestants who would be starring on the reality dating show this season was just confirmed last week, however, their vacation was cut short just days after arriving, when a producer of the show allegedly complained about two contestants getting extremely sexual in the pool while intoxicated. According to the source, DeMario Jackson, who was recently kicked off Rachel Lindsay’s current season of The Bachelorette, and Corinne Olympios, from Nick Viall’s season were the two contestants in question, and now Warner Brothers has launched a full investigation.
TMZ reported that DeMario gave his version of what all went down, but that there are also many different versions of what went down that differ from his, BUT DeMario’s version goes as follows: Last Sunday, which was the first day of production, he and Corinne were told by producers one of the story lines would be the two of them hooking up. The two met at the bar and the alcohol was flowing. DeMario says Corinne jumped in his lap and started making out with him, followed by lots of "intense rubbing."
DeMario says Corinne then suggested they take things to the pool while the cameras were still rolling. They took off their clothes, started making out and "rubbing, touching and fingering, however, DeMario confirmed that NO intercourse was engaged because of the alcohol, however the show is being thoroughly investigated because another source revealed that QUOTE, “The show absolutely values the primacy of consent, and this instance it appears as though conduct allegedly occurred without the proper consent having been given.”
Things have taken a turn, however, as Corinne also gave her side of the story, claiming that she was in a blackout state when she got sexual and blames producers for not pulling the plug and protecting her, although our sources say people who have seen the tape claim she was lucid and fully engaged. Although DeMario recalls remembering everything, Corinne revealed that she remembers nothing, and has told her friends she has a boyfriend and wouldn't have done what she did – especially with cameras rolling – to jeopardize that relationship, and that lawyers are now involved.
Multiple sources, including DeMario confirmed that the next day, everything was fine and that he and Corrine were actually getting along well, but on Tuesday they were called in by the Exec Producer and told one of the show producers had seen the film and was "uncomfortable" with what was shot. As the show was put on indefinite suspension, all the contestants have already been sent home.
As for the current contestants, fans snapped photos of the majority of the group at the airport in Puerta Vallarta yesterday morning, however, Twitter is where the REAL action went down yesterday. Fans were shocked to learn about what happened, and many of their reactions were just as you’d expect.
Many Twitter users assumed hookups and drinking were exactly what is supposed to happen in Paradise – one user wrote, “Cancelling #BachelorInParadise for "misconduct" is like shutting down McDonald's for serving unhealthy food. I mean, duh, right?” Someone else believed the whole ordeal was blown out of proportion by the producer, attaching a picture of a nun, with the caption, “I have an exclusive pic of the #BachelorInParadise producer who sued for misconduct.”
But one user summed it up perfectly, writing, “If bachelor in paradise isn't going to happen this year I need someone to just cancel the rest of summer please. #BachelorInParadise”. Although the status is completely up in the air, it has been revealed that the incident has NOT yet jeopardized the future of Bachelor in Paradise for now – just this season so far. We will be sure to share updates as more facts become available, but right now, let’s just all pray to the Paradise gods above that the future of the show is still on… I’ve also gotta know your thoughts on what went down, so get to talking down here in the comments, and after that, be sure to click right over here to check out last week’s episode of True Showmance.
