Baling MP Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim caught the attention of Dewan Rakyat on Thursday, by revealing that 266 people have committed suicide since the MCO started this year.
He said around 25% of the suicides were caused by debt problems.
He added that this is why it's important for all lawmakers to support Budget 2021, to make sure the people's welfare can be taken care of in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Abdul Azeez appeared to be referring to an article by Kosmo! on the suicide figures, which cited Bukit Aman Management Director Ramli Din.
