A Batgirl film is in the making and word on the street is that Warner Bros. has already drawn up a list of actresses to play the part.
Sources say that the production studio wants to make a decision soon so that they can announce the official Batgirl at Comic-Con.
According to Paper Magazine, a user on Reddit has claimed that they have a friend who was contacted by Warner Bros. to work on the concept art for the film. That same source said that Warner Bros. is looking to lock down the role of Batgirl by Comic-Con so that they can make the official announcement. An alleged list of potentials is swirling around that includes Elle Fanning, Olivia Cooke from Bates Motel, Bella Thorne, Margaret Qualley from the Leftovers, Jane Levy from Don’t Breathe, Emma Roberts, Haley Lu Richardson from Edge of Seventeen, and Naomi Scott from Power Rangers. Also amongst the actresses, is 13 Reasons Why’s breakout star, Katherine Langford. While the list of actresses if filled with talent, it is raising controversy due to the extreme lack of diversity.
Fans of the comic book character have pointed out that the production studio could most definitely take this opportunity to cast a woman of color seeing as though the Future’s End series showcases Tiffany Fox who is a black actress as the character. Therefore other names that fans have brought to the surface include Amandla Stenberg, Yara Shahidi, and Madalion Rahimi. The list of actresses has not been confirmed so the mystery still lingers but with Comic Con right around the corner, the answer is near. Who do you guys think should play Batgirl?
