Viva Mexico! Becky G is lashing out at Donald Trump after his recent Mexican immigrant comments, with a few firey words of her own.
And what better way to get her point across than through the power of a new song, called ‘We Are Mexico,’ which has already began trending across social media platforms worldwide.
Becky G’s voice is most definitely being heard after the release her newest track, in response to Donald Trump’s harsh anti-immigrant remarks, which are causing quite the stir in the Mexican-American population. Check it out:
Becky took to Twitter to express her gratitude for the viral message, saying QUOTE, “#WeAreMexico just started trending. I'm honestly almost in tears. This song means so much to me. It's for us. When I say us I don't just mean the Latin community. I did this for everyone who came to this country for a better life.”
The Latina popstar’s heartfelt lyrics are heard throughout the track, including an inside-look at the struggle her grandparents endured after moving from Mexico to settle in California, and advice from her mother. She writes, QUOTE, “Hard work, double time, overtime, two jobs, working till our heads hurt, but we ain’t never late to pay the bills. Mother said, ‘Always follow your heart, make sure you keep your head above the water,’ and I promised her I always will.”
Donald’s remarks have not only snatched the attention of Mexican-American musicians, but have also caused Univision to drop the upcoming Miss USA pageant, after Roselyn Sánchez and Cristián De La Fuente, who were set to co-host the Spanish-language simulcast of the show, have decided to drop out. NBC Universal has also cut ties with doing any business with Donald, so in other words, Donald:
