Black Panther WINS best movie at the 2018 BET Awards
But, I mean…are we really surprised?
For those of you who haven’t seen the incredible Marvel film Black Panther, it’s truly a phenomenal movie. And honestly, I don’t think anyone was that surprised that it won the award for best movie at the 2018 BET Awards.
Michael B Jordan and the director of the film, Ryan Coogler were both present to accept the award on behalf of the cast and crew of the film.

We’re not so sure we believe that though, because Ryan then proceeded to give us an extremely moving speech. He not only thanked the fans for making this movie possible, but went on to share exactly what this movie is all about, saying QUOTE “The film is about our experience being African Americans, also trying to capture the experience of being African on this planet.” Ryan continued on to say that there may be a lot of factors making you believe that that’s something to be ashamed of or something you should hide, but this movie is all about being proud of where you come from.
