Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu has lost a vote of confidence in the state legislature.
48 assemblypersons voted against him, while 10 voted for him. There was one spoiled vote or abstention.
The confidence vote was initiated by Abd Manap Hashim's (BN-Pengkalan Bharu) motion. His motion was initially positioned last on the Order Paper.
The state House resolved to fast track the confidence vote after emergency motions by Salbiah Mohamed (BN-Temenggor) and Howard Lee (Harapan-Pasir Pinji) were accepted by assembly speaker Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid.
