Somewhere Prince is looking down on the 59th Grammys with a huge grin on his face. Bruno Mars took the stage at the Staples Center for a surprise tribute to iconic singer Prince, donning a purple sequin jacket and white blouse. And Bruno’s Prince look was as flawless as his performance.
As you saw Bruno was joined on stage by The Time, a Minneapolis-based funk group that had a long history with Prince. The Time opened the performance with Prince’s hits “Jungle Love” and “The Bird” and then Bruno chimed in singing “Let’s Go Crazy”. The group celebrated Prince with the most lively performance of the night that included some classic Prince choreography.
Bruno ended the medley with an impressive electric guitar solo that we’re sure would receive a standing O from Prince himself! Even Beyonce and Jay Z were seen out of their seats dancing to the performance.
