BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE CENTRE TO COMBAT CORRUPTION & CRONYISM (C4) IN COOPERATION WITH MERDEKA CENTRE
27 July 2015 Shah Village Hotel, Petaling Jaya
As we know, Sarawak has seen some very interesting developments the last year.
With a State election expected to be called anytime soon, and a tough talking new Chief Minister, making waves with his anti corruption pledges, the Centre to Combat Corruption & Cronyism (C4), felt that in order to better strategize our work in a fast changing landscape, we commissioned a poll to assess just how much groundswell of support Chief Minister Adenan Satem had garnered during his term as new Chief Minister, and as a torch bearer for good governance and integrity in the State.
Previous Chief Minister Taib Mahmud, had been widely accused of massive corruption and nepotism during his long tenure, raping the lush rainforests and building a mammoth empire across the globe.
We are ready to share the findings of the survey, and firmly believe that the findings of this survey will set an important context not just for the people of Sarawak, but for policy makers, elected representatives and civil society groups to place a strong anti corruption and good governance reform agenda in the coming elections, and make the commitment to weed out money politics for a clean and accountable government.
We are also pleased to have Dr Mohd Faizal Syam Abdol Hazis, Head of Department of Politics and International Relations, from UNIMAS who will be present to share his perspectives with us on the upcoming Sarawak elections.
