Cardi B is backing out of a Memorial Day Weekend concert and it’s at least partly due to some serious fallout from her plastic surgery procedures.
What’s up guys? It’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and our girl Cardi B is taking some time out to rest and recover!
Cardi had to cancel multiple shows including one in Baltimore for the 92Q Spring Bling Festival and according to TMZ, it’s due to “complications from her recent liposuction and breast augmentation.”
She was supposed to headline the festival this Friday night, but now it's been postponed until September because she had to pull out, doctor’s orders.
Sources told TMZ that it's gotten so bad, she simply can't perform.
And Cardi's publicist also told Page Six that QUOTE, "Cardi was overzealous in getting back to work. She didn’t take the time necessary to fully recover. Her strenuous schedule has taken a toll on her body and now has been given strict doctor’s orders to pull out of the rest of her performances in May.”
Also just an FYI, performing is definitely NOT advised after surgery.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, full recovery time averages six weeks for breast augmentation, and "several months" for liposuction, so Cardi was definitely pushing it.
She needs time to let the swelling go down and for her body to fully recover, so doctors are recommending a couple of weeks of much needed R&R.
And we know that Cardi has been open about her post-baby plastic surgery.
Earlier this month at a music festival in Memphis she said quote, “I have some news for y’all. I should have canceled today. I shouldn’t really be performing because moving too much is gonna f— up my lipo. But bitch I’m still gonna get my motherf—ing money back, let’s go!”
And she also talked candidly about getting her boobs redone after giving birth.
She told Entertainment Tonight that quote, “I just got my boobs redone. I feel good, but then sometimes I feel like not, you know? When your skin is stretched out.”
So clearly, getting work done hadn’t stopped her from performing until now.
Fans are chiming in on the cancellation of her Baltimore show, many of them disappointed while others are telling her to feel better.
One said quote, “How are you gonna change a concert that’s this Friday all the way to September?”
And another added quote, “Damn I thought that was all natural and hard work. Well, feel better.”
So here's to hoping Cardi gets all the rest and recovery she needs so she can keep slaying on stage.
Alright guys, now I want to hear from you! Do you think fans have the right to be upset over Cardi cancelling the show? And is it fair to postpone a May show all the way until September?
