After five games the Warriors are THE champions of the NBA, and all their celeb fans are reacting accordingly on social media…
It was a huge and well-deserved win for Golden State, and Steph Curry and Kevin Durant in particular could not have been more thrilled to nab the 2017 title. A flurry of their biggest celeb fans congratulated them in all kinds of ways, with Zendaya tweeting QUOTE, “Woke up in Paris to some good news! FOR THE TOWN!!! LETSS GOOOOO!!! @warriors #DUBNATION”, and John Mayer joking QUOTE, “For some reason I always want to call them the "Garden State Warriors." Nonetheless I congratulate them”. Snoop, who was actually at the game, congratulated the team by sharing a very chill-looking selfie.
Kevin Durant was named the MVP of the finals, but the real MVP of them all turned out to be Kevin’s mom. Josh Gad said it best when he tweeted QUOTE, “Tonight Mama Durant Became President”. Oh how we wish that was true, right?! Right as the Warriors were dubbed champions, Mama Durant rushed to center court to congratulate her son with the hug of a mother who could not be any prouder of her son. The moment could not have been sweeter…
While Kevin and his mom took center stage in everyone’s hearts with that tender moment, Steph Curry’s adorable 4-year-old daughter Riley once again stole the show. Sporting a blue dress and giant yellow ribbon in her hair, Riley danced her little heart while her dad was interviewed about his big win.
You know you’re one of the cutest kids of all time when you upstage the actual players during their Championship interviews.
Meanwhile Rihanna played homage to LeBron James with a Lion King video that perfectly summed up how all of his fans felt after his loss. In her Instagram post, LeBron plays Mufasa, Kevin Durant plays Scar, and Riri herself plays Simba.
Rihanna captioned the post QUOTE, “#LongLiveTheKing #KingisStillKingBitch (whispers congrats to KD, cause....ROCNation) BUT: me and @mdollas11 beefing all summer!!" LeBron may have lost the championship but having Rihanna as your biggest fan is certainly not the worst consolation prize in the world.
