After days of being on B-Watch, IHOP fans, and really just breakfast lovers around the world, were shocked to discover that the mysterious ‘B’ that dramatically changed their beloved breakfast hot spot from IHOP to IHOB, actually stands for…. burgers. BURGERS?! That’s not breakfast!
The confusion was felt EVERYWHERE, and by everywhere, I mean Twitter, where it was straight savagery in response to the shocking name reveal.
One user wrote QUOTE “Your day might be going bad but at least you didn’t pitch IHOB” while another tweeted QUOTE “The B in IHOB stands for “Bad Decisions.”
Other countries started weighing in on the news, with one supportive user writing QUOTE “i dont even live in a country with IHOP and I am pissed.”
And you had to know this name thing was a big deal when The Oxford, Mississippi police department told IHOB to QUOTE “Go home. You’re drunk”
Even some of our favorite celebs chimed in. Kumail Nanjiana poked fun at the anticlimactic reveal, tweeting QUOTE “Finally. A place in America where I can get some burgers.”
Manny Guttierez tweeted QUOTE “Okay but like..... im never gonna say IHOB.... ITS IHOP FOREVER”
And obviously Chrissy Teigen had something to say because she’s Chrissy Teigen. She tweeted QUOTE “IHOb is the guy who gets a face tattoo of the girl’s name after 1 date.” Ugh, love her.
But leave it to some of our favorite brands to shut it all down. Netflix tweeted QUOTE “brb changing my name to Netflib” while Hot Pockets and A&W both pretended to also change their names.
But we all know there was only one account that could deliver the most savage response, and that account belongs to… Wendy’s practically broke the internet tweeting QUOTE “Not really afraid of the burgers from a place that decided pancakes were too hard.
Aaaaaand naturally, the internet flipped out over their response. Seriously, who is running their social media? They deserve an award. Whoever it is, they weren’t even done yet. They later tweeted QUOTE “Remember when you were like 7 and thought changing your name to Thunder BearSword would be super cool? Like that, but our cheeseburgers are still better.”
