Christina Grimmie's Mom Tragically Dies of Breast Cancer

Christina Grimmie‘s mom, Tina, tragically lost her battle with breast cancer on Sunday, September 2. Her tragic death comes just two years after 22-year-old Christina was shot and killed during a post-concert meet & greet in Orlando, Florida, on June 10, 2016.
The Grimmie family made the heartbreaking announcement about Mama Grimmie on social media shortly after her passing. The statement reads, in part, QUOTE “We are saddened to announce the loss of our beloved Tina, also affectionately known as ‘Mama Grimmie’ to the millions of fans of Christina Grimmie around the world. She will be missed immensely. Tina fought a courageous and brave battle with cancer for many years, even until her final hours with family by her side. While this is a bittersweet moment for us as a family, particularly after losing Christina two years ago, we rejoice at the thought that Tina and Christina are united once again in the presence of our Lord and Savior.”
Tina is remembered as a QUOTE “powerful and shining example of motherhood” to two children, as well as a dedicated wife to Bud. The statement continues QUOTE “Her laugh, energy, passion and joyful spirit will eternally be a part of all of us.”
Fans of the late singer know Tina courageously fought breast cancer for years, with Christina revealing that she battled it four times as of 2014.
The Grimmie family asks that fans respect their privacy as they mourn Tina’s death and make donations to the Christina Grimmie Foundation in her honor instead of sending flowers.
