Inspired by Singapore’s move to hold a general election this year, Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan called on Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to do the same.
Mohamad, the highest-ranking Umno leader so far in favour of snap polls, said the move was especially necessary because the federal government was not stable.
Writing on Facebook, Mohamad said since independence, Malaysia has never seen such instability, politically.
