Mount Wakid (Gunung Wakid in local name) is 1,372 Meters high and located in Tambunan district of Sabah interior. This mountain is conserved as a water catchment area, and climbers will enjoy super clean rivers and waterfalls along their way. The climb starts in Sunsuron Village and the 7-Km summit trail takes about 3 hours one way.
Climbers will walk on relatively flat area in lowland for about 4 KM, the last 2 to 3 KM ascending trail is steep and challenging if you use the new Jingkung trail. If you want a more relaxing climb, you can use the old trail from other side. In this video, you will see us ascend from Jingkung trail and descend via the old trail.
